More than 1000 people from both domestic and foreign political and business circles gathered in Macau on the 14th to participate in the first Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Development Business Conference. The conference formed and released the "Macao Initiative to Further Promote the Construction of International Business Cooperation in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area", in order to further promote the international business community to build and utilize the Greater Bay Area, and share the development opportunities of the Greater Bay Area. The two-day conference, with the theme of "Greater Bay Area, Greater Strategy, Greater Exchange, and Greater Development," was co hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and the Macau Special Administrative Region Government. The attending guests demonstrated the strong desire of the business community to actively invest in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, He Yicheng, delivered a speech stating that as one of the core cities in the Greater Bay Area, Macau has the advantages of an international free port, a low tax system, a wide economic and trade network, and a harmonious social environment. It has been actively playing a platform role in attracting internal and external connections. Currently, Macau is pursuing a pragmatic strategy of moderately diversified economic development through the "1+4" strategy. While optimizing, refining, and strengthening the comprehensive tourism and leisure industry, we will vigorously promote the development of key industries such as traditional Chinese medicine and health, modern finance, high-tech, exhibition and trade, culture and sports, optimize the industrial structure, and assist in the new development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, delivered a video speech stating that the central government announced the "Development Plan for the Shenzhen Park of the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone" at the end of August, promoting the high-quality development of makers in the Greater Bay Area and creating the Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone as a world-class innovation platform. In addition to the important opportunities brought by the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, Qianhai Shenzhen Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, and Guangzhou Nansha Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Comprehensive Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the Greater Bay Area will definitely develop into one of the most dynamic and competitive regions in China and globally. Guo Yile, Deputy Secretary General of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, said that the Greater Bay Area is full of vitality and unlimited potential, providing broad development space for domestic and foreign enterprises to invest and prosper. It is hoped that this conference will be taken as an opportunity to better promote the Chinese and foreign business communities to share the huge historical opportunity of Chinese path to modernization and work together to promote the realization of high-quality development in the Greater Bay Area. Vice Minister of Commerce Guo Tingting delivered a video speech stating that she will promote the integration of economic and trade rules between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao by expanding institutional openness; Support Hong Kong and Macao to leverage their strengths and cultivate new international competitive advantages in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area; Focusing on stabilizing scale and optimizing structure, promoting high-quality development of trade in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, accelerating the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and supporting Hong Kong and Macao to better integrate into the overall national development situation. Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, released the "Macao Initiative to Further Promote the Construction of International Business Cooperation in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area" at the conference. The main contents include: jointly promoting an open world economy, leading the development of innovative technology industries, promoting green and sustainable development, deepening regional economic integration, and jointly building and sharing the Cultural Bay Area.
