The Artificial Intelligence Robotics Laboratory at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was officially launched on the 4th to strengthen robot technology education and promote joint creation and innovation among students and researchers. Lu Lihua, Executive Vice President of University of Science, said when attending the opening ceremony of the laboratory on the same day that University of Science has always been committed to promoting Holistic education, attaching importance to innovation and entrepreneurship, cultivating talents needed by the society, supporting entrepreneurs, researchers, alumni and students of University of Science for many years, providing all-round support for start-ups at different stages, making scientific research achievements go out of campus, implement and transform, and benefit the society. It is reported that in the artificial intelligence robot laboratory, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the unicorn Hairou Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (Hairou Innovation) have collaborated to establish a warehouse automation solution for Hairou Innovation, which not only helps the university develop technology, but also allows students to learn the application of innovative intelligence technology. The University of Science and Technology said that the laboratory, with a total area of 1800 square meters, is equipped with advanced mechanical arms, robots, automated guided vehicle, unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as AI robots and industry 4.0 related learning kits, which can be used to explore collaborative robot application development, component manufacturing, control system design, independent system development, robot intelligence and AI algorithm design and other fields. At present, there are 15 University of Science and Technology project teams stationed in the laboratory, studying the application of artificial intelligence and robotics technology in different fields such as healthcare, rehabilitation, sports technology, engineering, energy, computers, and sustainable development.
