Chinese president Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on March 20(local time) for a state visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. At about 1pm, Xijinping's special plane arrived at Moscow's Vnukovo Special Airport. As Xi Jinping stepped out of the cabin door, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Cherneshenko and other senior government officials greeted him warmly at the side of the gangway. The Russian side held a grand welcome ceremony at the airport. The military band played the national anthems of China and Russia.
