On the morning of the 29th, the Zhongwei Lanzhou section of Yinchuan Lanzhou high-speed railway (hereinafter referred to as Yinchuan Lanzhou high-speed railway) was completed and opened. So far, Yinchuan Lanzhou High speed Railway has been put into operation throughout the whole line, and the fastest time from Yinchuan to Lanzhou is 2 hours and 56 minutes. Yinzhou Lanzhou High speed Railway is an important part of the "Beijing Huzhou Yinzhou Lanzhou Railway", one of the main channels of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway. Its full line operation has further improved the road network structure in Gansu, Ningxia and other western regions, greatly facilitating the travel of people along the line, and is of great significance in promoting regional coordinated development and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization. The Yinchuan Lanzhou high-speed railway connects Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province. It is 431km long and will be constructed in two sections. The Yinchuan Zhongwei section has been put into operation on December 29, 2019. The Zhongwei Lanzhou section, which is put into operation this time, has a total length of 219 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. There are 7 stations along the line, including Zhongwei South, Beitan, Pingchuan West, Jingyuan North, Baiyin South, Qinwangchuan, and Lanzhou West. Zhongwei South and Lanzhou West are existing stations, and others are new stations. The Zhongwei Lanzhou Section of Yinzhou Lanzhou High speed Railway is mostly located in collapsible loess areas with complex topographic and geological conditions. Since the commencement of construction in June 2017, the construction party has organized all participating units to promote the project construction in a safe, efficient, scientific and orderly manner, effectively defuse a variety of geological risks, overcome the worldwide railway construction problem of wall rock softening in water, and lay a solid foundation for the completion and operation of the whole line. At the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange Yinchuan Lanzhou passenger trains according to the daily line, weekend line and peak line. Up to 15 pairs of EMU trains will be operated every day, including 4 pairs from Lanzhou to Yinchuan, 1 pair from Lanzhou to Zhongwei, and the fastest trains from Lanzhou to Yinchuan and Zhongwei will be 2 hours 56 minutes and 1 hour 42 minutes respectively, which will be 5 hours 26 minutes and 4 hours 04 minutes shorter than before the opening.
