Over the years, China has sent agricultural experts to Burundi to visit all parts of Burundi, relying on the China aided Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center to guide 22 villages in 14 rice growing provinces of Burundi, and provide technology and guidelines for rice farmers. According to Yang Huade, an agricultural expert of China's aid to Burundi, the expert group succeeded in raising the rice yield in Burundi from an average of 3 tons per hectare to 10 tons, achieving a leap forward growth and contributing to the country's food security.
