Two years of "double reduction" 83.3% of surveyed parents are satisfied with their children's learning and life

It has been two years since the implementation of the "double reduction" policy. Compared to the past when the "chicken baby" atmosphere was strong, there were fewer children rushing to various training classes in their spare time. Instead, more and more children appeared in outdoor venues such as community squares and park fitness corners. Last week, a survey conducted by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily (wenjuan. com) on 1334 parents of compulsory education students showed that since the "double reduction", the reduction of children's homework burden and the reduction of family education expenses have been the areas that surveyed parents generally feel have undergone significant changes. 83.3% of surveyed parents are satisfied with their children's current academic life. In the challenge of continuously promoting "double reduction", achieving targeted and effective after-school services ranks first. The homework burden of children has been reduced, and the most significant changes have been in family education expenses. Qiu Feng, a parent of fourth grade students at a public primary school in Beijing, introduced that since the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, children's learning and life have undergone significant changes. Grades 1-3 no longer have homework to take home. Grades 4-6 can complete their homework at school. The 5-day after-school service includes not only participating in school club activities, but also practicing calligraphy, badminton, and guitar at school for 3 days. Some children also participate in special activities such as artificial intelligence. There are no subject tutoring classes outside now, and children have a lot of time to arrange independently during holidays and weekends. "Qiu Feng admitted, as a visitor, He envies those students who have been admitted to prestigious schools. But at the same time, because he had encountered mental health problems during his adolescence, it also made him deeply realize the importance of physical and mental health. So, he strongly supports "double reduction", "I am particularly satisfied that children now have time to independently research and explore things they are interested in after class, read books they like, and expand their extracurricular knowledge. Yu Ning from Jiangsu is a housewife with two children in elementary school. After stopping the training class for the two children, the family saved a considerable amount of educational expenses and felt that the economic pressure had been greatly reduced. Previously, I used to feel chest tightness, headache, and unstable emotions when tutoring two children on their homework. Although I still assign them learning tasks now, the tutoring for homework has been solved in the school's after-school service, making it much easier and improving their sense of happiness. Xu Pei, a parent of a junior high school student in Hunan, felt that the burden reduction was not significant, The Ministry of Education explicitly stipulates that lectures cannot be given during the after-school service period, but some teachers at children's schools still use the extended service time to give lectures. Children come home for dinner at 7 pm and have a pile of homework waiting to be done. They often finish it before 10 pm, and it is already 11 pm to wash and sleep. There is no extra time to schedule physical exercise, and their eyes do not have sufficient rest. They also lack sleep time and cannot wake up the next morning What significant changes have occurred in the family over the past two years? According to the survey, parents first felt that their children's homework burden had been reduced (41.8%), followed by a decrease in family education expenditure (37.3%), followed by a decrease/absence of extracurricular subject training (36.5%), and other main factors were reduced parental counseling pressure (36.1%) and personal interests
