The 2023 Yangtze River Delta Major Leaders Symposium was held on June 5th in Hefei, Anhui. On the 6th, Han Jun, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of all participating parties, reported on the main achievements of this symposium and the integration development of the Yangtze River Delta. With the theme of "Hand in Hand with High Quality Integration and Strive for Chinese path to modernization", the conference comprehensively summarized the achievements and experience of the integration and development of the Yangtze River Delta in the past five years since it became a national strategy, and made it clear that it would deepen cooperation in more key areas and regions, promote the implementation of more major platforms and projects, and strive to inject strong impetus into the development of higher quality integration of the Yangtze River Delta. Jointly build a Yangtze River Delta scientific and technological innovation community, build a world-class major scientific and technological infrastructure cluster, promote the co construction and sharing of major scientific installation clusters in the Yangtze River Delta, and explore pilot reforms for international scientific and technological openness and innovation ecology. We will make every effort to build a world-class industrial cluster for new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles, plan to build a quantum communication intercity trunk network in the Yangtze River Delta region, accelerate the construction of the digital Yangtze River Delta, and strengthen cross regional industrial chain supply and demand cooperation. We will promote high-level opening up, create a major open platform, promote the coordinated development of pilot free trade zones in three provinces and one city, implement the "the Belt and Road" cooperation and joint construction mechanism in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly carry out overseas investment promotion and other activities, and promote the construction of world-class airport clusters. Jointly promoting ecological and environmental protection and governance, accelerating the construction of ecological barriers in the Yangtze River, Huaihe River, Jianghuai Canal, Xin'anjiang Ecological Corridor, the Dabie Mountains in western Anhui, and the Yangtze River Delta Mountains in southern Anhui, western Zhejiang, and southern Zhejiang. We will unswervingly improve people's wellbeing, realize the universal use of social security cards in public libraries, state-owned museums and A-level tourist attraction in the Yangtze River Delta region, improve the coordinated development mechanism of medical insurance in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly build national regional medical centers, and carry out regional integration pilot projects in the Yangtze River Delta in terms of the rating of elderly care institutions, the identification of elderly care professional skills, and long-term care insurance settlement in different places. Promote coordinated regional development, synergistically enhance the high-quality development momentum of underdeveloped regions, and promote the pairing cooperation between Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang cities to help cities in northern Anhui achieve landmark progress. Promote the integration of administrative law enforcement, consumer rights protection, and quality foundation in the Yangtze River Delta, and encourage banks and financial institutions in the Delta to implement cross regional collaborative credit granting. In addition, the Yangtze River Delta will fully leverage the role of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of the three provinces and one city, deepen legislative coordination, strengthen joint research by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and carry out exchanges of cadres and talents at higher levels and on a larger scale. The meeting also jointly reviewed the 2023 work plan for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, and determined that the 2024 major leadership symposium in the Yangtze River Delta region will be held in Zhejiang.
