This is my second visit to Kazakhstan after five years and my fourth time in this beautiful land. Kazakhstan has vast grasslands, magnificent mountains and rivers, and hospitable people. I am looking forward to this visit. China and Kazakhstan are good neighbors, good friends and good partners linked by mountains and rivers. The two peoples have a history of friendly exchanges for thousands of years and jointly wrote a magnificent poem of the ancient Silk Road connecting the east and the west. Chinese eminent monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty and diplomat Chen Cheng of the Ming Dynasty have all visited Kazakhstan. Kazakh historical and cultural celebrities, such as Ali Farabi, the "Oriental Aristotle", and Abe Kunambayev, the "Poet Saint", are also known in China. Their stories have been widely spread among the people of the two countries. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Kazakhstan. 30 years of wind and rain, 30 years of hand in hand. The two countries have increasingly close exchanges and cooperation, and have jointly blazed an extraordinary path of development. ——Over the past 30 years, China Kazakhstan relations have made great strides forward, realizing the continuous progress from good neighborly friendship to strategic partnership, and then to permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, establishing a unique positioning of bilateral relations, and creating a new type of national relations featuring mutual respect, good neighborly friendship, helping each other in the same boat, and mutual benefit and win-win results. The two sides have always firmly supported each other on core issues related to national sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, etc., always respected each other's independent choice of a development path consistent with their own national conditions, and always welcomed each other's continuous progress in national development and national rejuvenation. The two countries are trusted friends and interdependent partners, and the two peoples will always stand side by side. ——Over the past 30 years, China Kazakhstan cooperation has made remarkable achievements. In recent years, China has been the most important trade partner and investment partner of Kazakhstan. Last year, the two sides overcame the adverse impact of the new pneumonia epidemic, and the bilateral trade volume returned to the US $25 billion mark, which together injected impetus into the world economic recovery. China and Kazakhstan took the lead in carrying out production capacity and investment cooperation, forming a list of projects covering 52 projects with a total amount of more than 21.2 billion US dollars. The completed large-scale strategic projects, such as Zanatas 100 MW wind power, JAC automobile production line, modernization of Shymkent refinery, have provided strong support for Kazakhstan's economic and social development, and indeed benefited the people of the two countries. ——Over the past 30 years, China and Kazakhstan have been connected to all sides. The two countries have successfully built an all-round and three-dimensional connectivity network covering roads, railways, aviation and oil and gas pipelines, and are committed to building a convenient and efficient "artery" of land and sea multimodal transport across Europe and Asia. All 5 pairs of road ports and 2 pairs of railway ports between China and Kazakhstan have resumed normal freight transport operations, and the two sides are maintaining close communication on the issue of adding railway ports.
