Last year, China and Turkey jointly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The two heads of state sent congratulatory messages and called each other, injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Turkey to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral strategic cooperation. Li Zhanshu pointed out that to develop China Turkey relations, it is necessary to further strengthen political mutual trust and mutual support. China firmly supports Turkmenistan in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, respects its choice of development path according to its own national conditions, and supports Turkmenistan in combating terrorism. The one China principle is the political basis for China's exchanges with other countries. China appreciates Türkiye's adherence to the one China principle for a long time and its repeated expression that no one is allowed to engage in Anti China separatist activities on Turkish territory. The essence of Xinjiang related issues is anti violence, anti extremism and anti secession. It is hoped that Turkey will take an objective stand on issues related to Xinjiang and consolidate the foundation of bilateral relations. Both China and Turkmenistan are big developing countries and share common responsibility for promoting regional and international security and stability. The essence of this initiative is to take the new concept of security as the guiding principle and mutual respect as the basic principle, and to embark on a new security path of dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alliance, and win-win rather than zero sum. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Turkey, adhere to genuine multilateralism and promote world and regional peace and tranquility. Li Zhanshu said that Türkiye was the first country to sign an intergovernmental agreement with China on jointly building the Belt and Road cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will further connect the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the "middle corridor" plan of Turkey, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in economic, trade, investment and other fields, strengthen people to people exchanges and enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples. Li Zhanshu stressed that the NPC of China is willing to carry out multi-level and multi-channel communication and exchanges with the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, and continue to make good use of the platform of the friendship group. We will promote practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields through legislation, promoting the implementation of laws and ratifying bilateral treaties. We should strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral parliamentary organizations and safeguard each other's core interests and major concerns.
