The import of European agricultural products has once again expanded. According to relevant information from the General Administration of Customs of China, eligible Dutch pork, Serbian dried plums, Hungarian fresh cherries, and others have been allowed to be imported to China. The General Administration of Customs recently announced that in accordance with relevant laws and regulations in China, as well as the requirements for inspection, quarantine, and hygiene when importing to China, Dutch pork (including edible pig by-products), Serbian dried plums and fresh blueberries, Hungarian fresh cherries, and French pig derived protein feed that meet relevant requirements are allowed to be imported. Currently, agricultural products have become an important area of economic and trade cooperation between China and Europe. Since the beginning of this year, fresh apples from Germany, Austrian dairy products, Irish pigs, Belgian sweet peppers, and others have increasingly enriched the dining tables of Chinese consumers. The first phase of six measures for building a community with a shared future between China and Serbia in the new era has clearly stated that China is willing to expand the import of high-quality agricultural products with Serbian characteristics. The EU Business Environment Report 2023/2024 recently released by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade shows that in 2023, China and the EU are each other's second largest trading partners. China is the EU's largest import source and third largest export market, while the EU is China's second largest import source and second largest export market. (Lai Xin She)
