China and Egypt Sign Cooperation Agreement on Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition and Cultural Relics Exhibition in China

On the 25th, representatives from China and Egypt signed a cooperation agreement in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, for the "Summit of the Pyramid: Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization" cultural relics exhibition in China, announcing that both sides will jointly hold the exhibition. This exhibition will be held at the Shanghai Museum from July 2024 to August 2025, showcasing nearly 800 ancient Egyptian cultural relics from different periods, including the statue of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The exhibits are selected from multiple Egyptian museums such as the National Museum of Egypt and the Luxor Museum, as well as cultural relics in the Segara Cultural Relics Warehouse. Chu Xiaobo, the director of the Shanghai Museum, and Mustafa Waziri, the secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Cultural Relics of Egypt, signed a cooperation agreement for cultural relics exhibitions in China as representatives of China and Egypt in Cairo. Yang Ronghao, Minister of Culture of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Relics of Egypt, and Muhammad Osman, Director of the Museum Department of the Supreme Council of Cultural Relics of Egypt, jointly attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the contract.
