On January 31st, the opening ceremony of the fifth round of negotiations for the 3.0 version of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Wang Shouwen, International Trade Negotiation Representative and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Wang Shouwen stated that China is willing to work with all ASEAN parties to complete negotiations as soon as possible. Building on the existing China ASEAN Free Trade Agreement and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), China will further enhance the level of trade and investment liberalization, expand practical cooperation in emerging fields such as intermediate goods trade, digital trade, cross-border e-commerce, standards, green and low-carbon, and create a higher level of China ASEAN Free Trade Area, Create broader space for regional development and actively build a closer China ASEAN community with a shared future. The fifth round of negotiations for the 3.0 version of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area was held from January 29th to February 2nd, with nearly 400 officials from the competent departments of China, ten ASEAN countries, and the ASEAN Secretariat attending.
