After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, with the development of the economy and society, the manufacturing and artistic level of Shiwan pottery sculpture has been greatly improved. In 2006, the Shiwan pottery sculpture technique was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list, and more and more people attach importance to the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage techniques. Her works are different from tradition, emitting the vitality of the times and youth. The inheritance path of Wu Weiwei, the inheritor of Shiwan pottery sculpture: Adhering to his original intention and dedicating himself to the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. In Shiwan, Foshan, "Liu Shengji" is not only a pottery sculpture shop that began in the late Qing Dynasty, but also a nickname for the Liu family, who have inherited pottery sculpture skills to this day. The founder of "Liu Shengji", Liu Huisheng, started his career by making "Shangong" (also known as "Weisu") and enjoyed a great reputation at that time; Liu Huisheng's seven sons and daughters have all inherited the skills of their parents. Liu Huisheng's son, Liu Zuochao, pioneered the creation of pottery sculptures based on people in the market. Over the course of a hundred years of history, "Liu Shengji" has achieved a prosperous ceramic family through six generations of cultivation. Wu Weiwei, born into the family of pottery and sculpture known as Liu Shengji, has been with mud and pottery tools since childhood. Her grandfather is Liu Zemian, a flag figure of Shiwan Ceramics, a master of handicrafts in the Asia Pacific region, and a master of Chinese arts and crafts. Her mother is Liu Jianfen, a master of Chinese ceramic art. When she was a child, her mother often took her with her to create pottery, and she was deeply influenced from a young age. When Wu Weiwei couldn't sit still and wanted to make a fuss with her mother, she would call her over and say, "Come on, I'll teach you how to make rabbits and pandas." Recalling this childhood memories, Wu Weiwei's face unconsciously smiled, "Our childhood toys were mud. It may take a lifetime to refine one's skills."
