The 21st China Cultural Industry New Year Forum was held in Beijing from January 6th to 7th. The forum is themed "New Starting Point: Cultural Power and Modern Civilization of the Chinese Nation", including main forum, thematic forum, creative management summit, think tank dialogue, and youth scholar seminar. The Report on the Development of China's Cultural Industry (2022-2023) was released at the forum. The Cultural Industry Research Institute of Peking University is a "cultural and tourism research base" awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Fu Hanxiao, Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China planned to build a socialist modern country in an all-round way and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization, and proposed to build a cultural power by 2035. Cultural construction has laid a solid ideological foundation for Chinese path to modernization and enriched the profound connotation of Chinese path to modernization. Liu Yuzhu, Chairman of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation, said in her speech that cultural relics resources are the foundation of industrial development, technological strength is the driving force of industrial development, social participation is the path of industrial development, and cultural exchange is the mission of industrial development. He proposed to excavate, extract, and create high-quality content products and cultural and creative derivatives that have the characteristics of the times, adapt to market needs, and meet modern consumer needs from cultural relics resources, create a symbol of Chinese civilization, and achieve creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional culture. Professor Hu Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University and Dean of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Development at Tsinghua University, pointed out that the flourishing development of the contemporary cultural industry and creative economy is directly related to the economic behavior of cultural people, especially after the basic satisfaction of food and clothing needs and material needs, spiritual needs are increasingly becoming the decision-making factor of economic behavior.
