The 21st China Cultural Industry New Year Forum was held in Beijing from January 6th to 7th. The Cultural Industry Research Institute of Peking University is a "cultural and tourism research base" awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In the past year, the Cultural Industry Research Institute has actively promoted the establishment of the Chinese Aesthetics Gene Bank and the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Cultural Creativity. It has successfully completed the major project of the National Social Science Fund, "Research on the Cooperation and Win Win Model and Path of Cultural Industry in the Silk Road Economic Belt.", Actively expanding the application scope of Peking University's innovative practice of empowering rural revitalization with cultural creativity, and participating in the pilot work of digital cultural industry master's degree, has had a certain social impact. We have carried out effective theoretical research, think tank consultations, and cultural practices in promoting the inheritance and innovation of excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting the digital transformation of the cultural industry, exploring the empowerment of rural revitalization and urban renewal by the cultural industry, and enhancing the influence of Chinese culture, achieving fruitful results. Fu Hanxiao, Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China planned to build a socialist modern country in an all-round way and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization, and proposed to build a cultural power by 2035. Cultural construction has laid a solid ideological foundation for Chinese path to modernization and enriched the profound connotation of Chinese path to modernization. As an important component of building a cultural power, the cultural industry is not only a high value-added sunrise industry, but also a happy industry closely related to the lives of the people. It has enormous development potential and broad development space. Liu Yuzhu, Chairman of the China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation, said in her speech that cultural relics resources are the foundation of industrial development, technological strength is the driving force of industrial development, social participation is the path of industrial development, and cultural exchange is the mission of industrial development. He proposed to excavate, extract, and create high-quality content products and cultural and creative derivatives that have the characteristics of the times, adapt to market needs, and meet modern consumer needs from cultural relics resources, create a symbol of Chinese civilization, and achieve creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional culture. Professor Hu Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University and Dean of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Development at Tsinghua University, pointed out that the flourishing development of the contemporary cultural industry and creative economy is directly related to the economic behavior of cultural people, especially after the basic satisfaction of food and clothing needs and material needs, spiritual needs are increasingly becoming the decision-making factor of economic behavior. He proposed that in economic activities, more attention should be paid to considering consumer formats, industrial structures, and regional policies based on the comprehensive needs of people, and more emphasis should be placed on promoting economic development through the freedom and comprehensive development of people.
