On June 11, 2022, in front of the Jiaxing Health Commission building, members of the 19th batch of medical teams assisting China and Africa were fully prepared and began an 18 month medical work in aid to China and Africa. Except for one translator, the remaining 11 members of the medical team came from Jiaxing's tertiary hospitals. Before departure, all team members underwent over 5 months of professional training in Ningbo. In addition to language learning, foreign policy, laws and regulations, and personal safety protection courses, they also received professional psychological counseling. After arriving in Bangui, the capital of Central Africa, the team members overcame various difficulties in the working environment at the local Friendship Hospital, carried out their work in an orderly manner, and recorded every detail of their work and life in Central Africa through writing diaries. She successfully performed a hysteroscopic endometrial polypectomy locally, which was also the first hysteroscopic surgery in nearly three years at the China Africa Friendship Hospital. In May 2023, a 5-year-old local child came to the medical team for treatment due to an eye injury, infection, and suppuration. After examination by an ophthalmologist, surgery was required, and postoperative anti infection treatment is crucial for ultimately preserving the eye. "As a 'part-time nurse' in the team, I took on the task of receiving intravenous injections for children. However, the children's veins were very thin and they were afraid of receiving injections, which increased the difficulty of our treatment. In order to alleviate the children's fear, I gave them some candies from China as small gifts every time they received injections to distract their attention and make the infusion treatment smoother," Guo Jianwei wrote, "After a week of treatment and careful care, the child's eyes were finally saved, and it was worthwhile for us to make more efforts to see her regain her lively appearance."
