On November 27th, the 56th annual meeting of the World Chinese Press Association opened in Guangzhou. Zhang Jianchun, Deputy Minister of the Central Propaganda Department, Liu Siyang, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the All China Journalists Association, Li Zuze, Honorary President of the World Chinese Press Association, Chen Jianwen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department, and Guo Yonghang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Zheng Qingdong, President of the World Chinese Newspaper Association and President and Editor in Chief of the Economic Daily, presided over the event. The theme of this annual conference is "Chinese newspaper industry and the inheritance and development of Chinese civilization". More than 100 representatives from more than 30 mainstream media leaders, experts and scholars, and heads of relevant departments from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, the United States and other places met in Guangzhou to discuss how Chinese newspapers can take on a new cultural mission and strengthen the construction of international communication capacity along the the Pearl River, so as to exchange and learn from each other and make Chinese civilization glow with a new era. Guo Yonghang, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, pointed out that Guangzhou is the center of Lingnan culture and also an important news and media center in China. The Guangzhou newspaper industry has always been leading the trend of the times in inheriting and developing excellent traditional Chinese culture and spreading the voice of China. Guests in Guangzhou are exploring and looking forward to the inheritance and development of Chinese newspaper industry and Chinese civilization, which is of great significance and timely. I hope that all guests can learn more about Guangzhou, promote Guangzhou, and launch more high-quality works to jointly sing the "Concerto" of mutual learning and prosperity of civilization. During the meeting, Guo Yonghang, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, met with Gui Zhenhua, Executive Chairman of the China Green Development Fund, Executive Chairman of the China Green Development Forum, and Honorary President of the China Green Pictorial, who attended the conference. Both sides have communicated and exchanged ideas on high-quality green development, ecological environment protection, especially green and beautiful ecological construction in Guangzhou. Chairman Gui Zhenhua then briefly introduced to Secretary Guo the preparations for the 9th China Green Development High Level Forum.
