On December 9th, the opening ceremony of the third "Our World" -2023 International Contemporary Art Exhibition was successfully held in Guangzhou. The Brazilian Consul General in Guangzhou, Ellen Coelho de Ceros, the Belgian Consul General in Guangzhou, Pei Weimin, the Turkish Consul General in Guangzhou, Kaan Bashkut, the representatives of the Polish and Iranian Consulates General in Guangzhou, the French artist, Mr. Jean Michel, the president of the French Expressionist Painting Academy, and from China, the United States, Russia, Australia, Portugal Excellent artists and cultural and artistic figures from Colombia and other countries attended this event. In 2020, the theme exhibition "Our World" was first unveiled, extending the tentacles of exploring the world with an artistic gaze. Now, the third art festival has just begun, once again showcasing the eternal theme of "Our World" through the perspectives of artists from different nationalities, age groups, and cultural backgrounds, showcasing our world in an artistic way. According to the reporter's on-site understanding, more than 600 submissions from around the world were received for this exhibition, and 59 works from 37 artists were finally selected for exhibition. The exhibition period is from December 10, 2023 to January 28, 2024. The organizer will donate 10% of the exhibition revenue to Fangfang Charity to support the education of Miao children in Guangxi and help children in mountainous areas return to school. French artist and director of the French Expressionist Academy, Jean Michel, stated in his speech that the "Our World" themed exhibition was born in 2020 during the global pandemic crisis. He hopes to use this as an opportunity to call on artists to express their concern for the global environment and showcase their views on the world in an artistic way. This theme exhibition brings together outstanding artists from all over the world, some of whom are well-known figures, and some are young people who have just stepped out of school and entered the art world. "I hope this exhibition can promote cross-border integration and collision between Chinese and foreign artists, and ignite more new artistic sparks." Jean Michel, a French artist and director of the French Expressionist Painting Academy, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, and young artist representative Cai Siyao shared his artistic insights and creative stories. "Viewing the world in an artistic way is like art becoming my limbs." He believes that through art, one can experience the vast world, feel the things and changes around them, and even feel everything happening on the other side of the ocean. Art is like a web, interweaving young artists with the world, creating beauty that transcends boundaries. Peng Wentao, a graduate student from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, won first prize, Zhu Yanfei, a graduate student from the Printmaking Department of Bologna Academy of Fine Arts, won second prize, and young artist Cai Siyao won third prize. Peng Wentao presented paintings that blend Chinese and Western history and culture in this exhibition.
