Several banks, including Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and China Construction Bank, have announced that a credit card underpayment of 100 yuan is considered a full repayment. Recently, the credit card industry has seen new changes in card usage services. On October 30th, the six major banks collectively issued a notice announcing that they will further introduce measures that benefit enterprises and the people based on existing policies, increase the power of fee reduction and profitability, and improve service quality and efficiency. At present, some banks have adjusted their credit card related services, including improving the credit card tolerance service mechanism, establishing credit card universal and gold card annual fee reimbursement mechanisms, and so on. On November 13th, the reporter noticed that Bank of China has issued an announcement to once again reduce fees and benefits for credit card services, including time-limited exemptions for various fees such as transfer out fees, credit card replacement fees, and reissuance fees. From the perspective of the industry, there has been a negative growth in the number of existing cards, and the consumption of credit cards by multiple banks has also decreased to varying degrees. The industry has entered an era of intensive cultivation, and how to deeply cultivate the stock in the future will be a major challenge. Multiple banks have raised their tolerance amounts to 100 yuan. The reporter noticed that on October 30th, Bank of China announced that it will comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of credit card services and increase the tolerance service limit to 100 yuan by the end of November. In fact, apart from Bank of China, some domestic banks have recently announced adjustments to their credit card services, including the establishment of credit card time tolerance and tolerance service mechanisms. Several major banks have stated that they will further improve the credit card tolerance service mechanism on the basis of providing a 3-day repayment grace period. The so-called "tolerance service" refers to when a cardholder experiences insufficient repayment in the current period and the outstanding portion of the account after the due repayment date is less than or equal to a certain amount, it should be considered as the cardholder's full repayment. The reporter noticed that Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank also issued a notice on October 30, stating that starting from October 31, 2023, if the cardholder fails to repay in full in the current period and the unpaid amount is less than 100 yuan (or equivalent foreign currency), it will be deemed that the cardholder has made a normal full repayment. Subsequently, some joint-stock banks also followed up. For example, on November 3rd, Ping An Bank issued a notice on the adjustment of credit card repayment tolerance, stating that starting from December 21st of this year, the bank's credit card repayment tolerance will be adjusted from 30 yuan (including 30 yuan or 6 yuan in US dollars) to 100 yuan (including 100 yuan or 20 yuan in US dollars), and this service does not require active application. Recently, Bank of China issued a notice on the reduction and exemption of certain service fees for our credit card in 2024, which aims to adjust the prices of credit card services. The exemption items include a total of 11 items, including the handling fees for the use of self owned funds by cardholders of Bank of China series products for counter withdrawal, transfer out, credit card reissuance/damaged card/early card replacement service fees, etc. Bank of China stated that this partial fee reduction is a phased fee discount from January 1 to December 31, 2024. It is reported that in October this year, the China Banking Association released the "Proposal on Adjusting the Prices of Some Banking Services to Improve Service Quality and Efficiency" (hereinafter referred to as the "Proposal"), in order to further guide the banking industry to support the development of the real economy and enhance the financial consumption experience of the people.
