Digital technology and the digital economy are profoundly changing the traditional economic development model, becoming a new and important growth engine for global economic development. During the 6th CIIE, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum's "Exploring International Digital Governance and Creating Opportunities for the Development of the Digital Industry" sub forum focused on the digital economy, and conducted in-depth exchanges around topics such as digital transformation, digital governance, and cybersecurity in various industries and fields. China attaches great importance to the development of the digital economy and has elevated it to a national strategy. It has introduced a series of policy measures to effectively promote the rapid development of the digital economy. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping said at the sub forum that in 2022, the scale of China's digital economy exceeded 50 trillion yuan, injecting strong momentum into high-quality economic and social development. At the sub forum, guests from multiple countries expressed that China has adhered to promoting the opening up of the digital field to the outside world and effectively expanded the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation relationship. China has established bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanisms with 30 countries and signed digital economy investment cooperation memorandums with multiple countries. It has set up e-commerce or digital economy special chapters in 10 signed free trade agreements. Pamela Kirk Hamilton, Executive Director of the United Nations International Trade Center, believes that in recent years, China has promoted the development and prosperity of the digital economy, nurtured and strengthened digital industries such as the industrial internet, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI). The continuous improvement of relevant top-level designs will provide ample impetus and rich experience for global digital transformation. Sharing the dividends of digital China's development, enterprises from various countries have cast a "vote of trust" through practical actions. At the sub forum, representatives of nearly 400 Chinese and foreign enterprises from nearly 20 countries exchanged and docked on topics such as digital economy technology cooperation, technology research and development, talent exchange, and trade cooperation, and a signing ceremony for enterprises was also held on site. There are 24 on-site signed projects in Zhejiang Province with a total investment of over 3.8 billion US dollars, including 15 projects with a total investment of over 100 million US dollars, and 7 investment projects from Fortune Global 500 and industry leading enterprises.
