2023-09-13

The 21st batch of multifunctional engineering units and construction engineering units sent by China to Lebanon for peacekeeping successfully passed the United Nations equipment inspection in the third quarter on the 12th, and all equipment and equipment met the standards set by the United Nations. The inspection team dispatched by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters successively visited the barracks of the Chinese multifunctional engineering unit and construction engineering unit in southern Lebanon. They conducted detailed inspections of over 20000 main equipment and self-sustainment equipment in 27 categories, including weapons, mechanical vehicles, communication, office, and accommodation, by listening to reports, conducting on-site inspections, and conducting actual installation operations. The equipment and equipment of the Chinese peacekeeping force are complete in quantity, in good performance, and neatly arranged according to classification, reflecting a very high level of professional literacy, "said the inspection team leader, Olika, at the summary feedback meeting. Equipment verification is usually conducted quarterly and is a comprehensive assessment by the United Nations of the equipment and facilities provided by troop-contributing countries. It is also an important basis for the United Nations to provide economic compensation to troop-contributing countries. Since its deployment to the mission area in August last year, the 21st batch of Chinese peacekeeping forces in Lebanon has safely cleared more than 2000 landmines, successfully completed more than 120 construction tasks, received more than 4000 visits from United Nations personnel and local people, achieved zero casualties in mine clearance, no accidents in construction, and no medical errors, and won widespread praise from the United Nations Force, the Lebanese government, and the local people.
