Light and Shadow Gather Strength, Charity Serves the Country - Mr. Chen Junhao, President of the Heart of Remembrance and Earth Photography Association

2023-08-21

On the evening of July 29, 2023, at 9:00 pm, Chen Junhao, President of Xinlian Dadi Photography Association, Mrs. Hao sent me a WeChat voice message, sobbing uncontrollably, "Iron Man, Ah Hao has just left...". Upon hearing the bad news, I was deeply saddened and couldn't believe it was true. At 67 years old, in the prime of life, it is still 8 years short of the average life expectancy of Chinese men! It's unacceptable, I can't help but shed tears. Mr. Chen Junhao is four years younger than me, and everyone affectionately calls him "Brother Hao", and I also call him that. This is because he has a high "Jianghu status" in his circle of friends, which is a respected title. I became acquainted with Haoge through photography and have known each other for over 20 years. Along the way, we have been both teachers and friends. Haoge has provided me with a lot of guidance in photography technology, allowing me, a novice who has been playing with cameras for decades and has never produced any works, to showcase my "works" at the Central Library of Hong Kong, making me a great teacher; Under the leadership of Brother Hao, we participated in the Xin Lian Di Photography Association, where we are skilled in photography. Let photography go hand in hand with charity, advance with love, and explore a new path of charity photography, which can be considered beneficial friends. I took a photo with Brother Hao. It was the summer of 2002 when I studied at the Central Party School. During the summer, my classmates met in Tibet and filmed many scenic "blockbusters". At that time, digital cameras were already popular, and only a few "antique" people like me still held onto the film machine, feeling that this was truly traditional art. Hong Kong is a popular market for new technology products, and developing camera film is already rare. Finally, under the introduction of Mr. Xia Guoliang from the Federation of Trade Unions, I found a traditional "Zhanmei Studio" in Tuen Mun that can wash camera film, just like me. Upon entering the "Zhanmei Cinema" located on Tuen Mun Township Council Road, Haoge stood in front of me a tall, handsome man in his forties. He is Mr. Chen Junhao, also known as Haoge. When Hao Ge was young, he worked as a martial arts actor for Shaw Film Company in Hong Kong. He probably had a gap in becoming a "movie star" and simply took a break from acting and ran a "Cham Mei fast food restaurant". In the late 1970s, wedding photography was popular in Hong Kong, and Hao Ge, who was passionate about photography, turned to a wedding photography shop. Finally, he opened this studio. Haoge, who was a martial arts actor at Shaw Film Company back then, explained his intention and I shook out dozens of rolls of film taken with Nikon F3 film cameras in Tibet, asking him to develop them. Brother Hao saw that I was also a fellow traveler in the film camera and said happily, "Wait a moment, I will help you make it immediately. And he said, "There aren't many people developing films now, they've all switched to digital cameras. Watching Haoge's skilled development techniques, I often ask for advice on the difference between film and digital, and Haoge is generous with his advice. And told me that he is considering whether to switch to a digital camera. That day, my first impression was that this unfamiliar film studio owner was a passionate, simple and down-to-earth person. After the photo was developed, Brother Hao picked up a photo of the glow of a snowy mountain and said, "This photo is so beautiful, Tibet is so beautiful, I must go once. If there is foreground in the vicinity of the snowy mountain, such as cows and sheep, prayer flags, Mani piles, then it would be even more perfect. Haoge's response to the photo
