More than 140 student athletes from the Hong Kong delegation of China participated in 11 events of this year's Universiade, with the highest number of participants in history. They won a total of 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 7 bronze medals at the Universiade, creating an unprecedented performance for the Hong Kong delegation of China in this world competition. Among them, the gold medal events are men's Tai Chi Sword, women's epee individual, men's foil individual, and men's foil team. On that day, the Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chen Guoji, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yang Runxiong, and the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Liu Mingguang, welcomed the Hong Kong delegation to Hong Kong International Airport and congratulated them on their outstanding achievements. Afterwards, Chen Guoji posted an article on social media stating that the Hong Kong delegation of China did not disappoint expectations and performed outstandingly in multiple events, winning 12 medals, setting an unprecedented record for the Hong Kong delegation in this world competition.
