Chinese Navy Qi Jiguang Arrives in Brunei for a Friendly Visit

Sribaga Bay, June 5th (Li Mingyu) - Chinese Navy ship Qi Jiguang, who was on a long-distance internship mission, arrived at the port of Mora in Brunei on the 5th and began a three-day friendly visit to Brunei. On May 15th of this year, the Chinese Navy's new comprehensive ocean training ship Qi Jiguang, carrying 476 naval students and officers, set sail from a military port in Dalian, Liaoning Province, carrying out a long-distance internship mission and visiting countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines. This is Qi Jiguang's second visit to Brunei for a friendly visit. At 8:30 am local time on June 5th, the Qi Jiguang ship, flying the flags of both Chinese and foreign countries, slowly docked at the port of Mora. More than 400 people, including Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Xiao Jianguo, embassy leaders and staff, local Chinese organizations, representatives of Chinese funded institutions, and representatives of Brunei Navy officers and soldiers, arrived at the dock to welcome them. On June 5th, the Chinese Navy ship Qi Jiguang arrived in Brunei for a friendly visit. Li Mingyu prepared a wonderful gong, drum, and lion dance performance at the pier and presented a wreath and bouquet to the Chinese task commander. After the welcoming ceremony, Ambassador Xiao Jianguo and his party boarded the ship Qi Jiguang. The captain of the ship Qi Jiguang and the political commissar accompanied Ambassador Xiao Jianguo to review the honor guard. During his visit to Brunei, the Chinese mission commander will meet with Colonel Sharif, the Acting Commander of the Brunei Navy. The visiting officers and soldiers will visit the Brunei Navy Training Center, the Brunei Royal Military Museum, the University of Brunei, and Brunei Navy ships for exchange and exchange. They will hold sports friendly matches with young officers and soldiers from the Brunei side and participate in beach environmental protection public welfare activities. During the berthing period, Qi Jiguang will organize ship opening activities and hold a deck reception. Princess Wenlai Masna and her wife will board the ship to participate in related activities. Mora Port was founded in 1973 and is the largest port in Brunei. It is located in the northern part of Kalimantan Island, adjacent to Brunei Bay and facing Mora Island.
