The Second European Political Community Leaders' Meeting was held in Moldova

2023-06-02

The Second European Political Community Leaders' Meeting was held on June 1st in Bulboak, Moldova. Nearly 50 leaders from European countries and regions attended the meeting to discuss issues such as European security, energy resilience, and connectivity. Moldovan President Sandu delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, expressing the hope that this meeting will help enhance the coordination capabilities of European countries in addressing security, energy, connectivity and other issues. It is reported that this meeting will also hold strategic dialogue on issues such as strengthening security on the European continent. Analysts believe that the conference is only one day long and it is difficult for participating leaders to develop practical solutions to the many challenges and problems facing Europe. The symbolic significance of the conference outweighs its practical significance. In May 2022, French President Macron proposed the establishment of a European Political Community, within which EU countries and non EU countries and regions can seek new space for political cooperation. In October 2022, the first European Political Community Leaders' Meeting was held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. (New News Agency)
