Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez said in a televised speech on the 29th that he has decided to advance the general election originally scheduled for December to July 23rd. Sanchez said that he has informed King Felipe VI of Spain about the situation, and the cabinet meeting will make a decision to dissolve the parliament and hold an early general election in accordance with the law that afternoon. This decision will be officially announced in the official gazette on the 30th. On May 28th, 12 out of 17 autonomous regions and 8131 municipalities in Spain held local council and government elections. In the autonomous region elections, the People's Party, a centre-right political party in Spain, not only obtained an absolute majority of local council seats in Madrid and Larioha, but also became the party with the highest vote rate in Valencia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, and Cantafuria.
