The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Promotion Conference was held on the 19th in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Nearly 200 representatives from Mexican government departments, industry associations, enterprises, and media attended. Chinese Ambassador to Mexico Zhang Run stated in his speech that Mexico is China's second largest trading partner in Latin America and China is Mexico's second largest trading partner globally. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 51 years ago, the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has achieved fruitful results. I hope that governments and enterprises at all levels in Mexico can actively participate in the CIIE and share the dividends of China's reform and opening up and economic development. Sun Chenghai, Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, stated that the bilateral trade foundation between China and Mexico is profound. He hopes that more Mexican enterprises can use the Import Expo platform to find business opportunities, and hopes that local institutions in Mexico can further leverage their advantages and organize more high-quality exhibitors to participate. Fernando Gonzalez, Director of the Asia Pacific Department of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that since the first CIIE, Mexican enterprises have been actively participating, effectively promoting trade between Mexico and China, and creating favorable conditions for Mexican products and services to enter the Chinese market. On the day of the event, representatives from the Mexican Beef Export Association and others shared their experiences of previous exhibitions and exports to China. The China International Import Expo Bureau and the Mexican Council of Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology Enterprises have signed a long-term cooperation memorandum for the Import Expo.
