On the 30th, Egyptian President Al Sisi issued a presidential decree approving Egypt's accession to the BRICS New Development Bank. Earlier, the Egyptian Parliament approved Egypt's accession to the BRICS New Development Bank on January 29th. In December 2021, the BRICS New Development Bank announced that it would welcome a new member country, Egypt. After obtaining the approval of the bank, the new member country needs to complete the relevant domestic procedures and formally become a new member after depositing the instrument of accession with the New Development Bank. In July 2015, the BRICS New Development Bank opened in Shanghai, aiming to mobilize resources for infrastructure construction and sustainable development projects in BRICS countries and other emerging economies and developing countries.
