The Hong Kong SAR government expanded the "Youth Dormitory Plan" to convert the first youth hostel from a hotel, and held an opening ceremony on March 27. According to reports, this youth hostel, named "BELIVING Youth Hub", is jointly launched by the Hong Kong Youth Federation and Ji Hui Group. It is located in Wanchai District, Hong Kong, and is only 5 minutes away from the Causeway Bay subway station. It has 97 rooms and provides up to 194 accommodation spaces. The rent is lower than the market price. In her speech at the opening ceremony, the Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mai Meijuan, stated that in order to meet the desire of working youth to have their own living space, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced the expansion of the "Youth Dormitory Scheme" at the end of last year, funding non-governmental organizations to rent suitable hotels and hostels, and converting rooms to youth hostels. Mai Meijuan said that "Beliving Youth Hub" not only provides living space for young people, but also designs "Be Good Neighborhood" activities for residents, allowing young people to develop their strengths, give back to the community, and contribute to Hong Kong while adding value to themselves. Yang Zhenglong, President of the Hong Kong Youth Federation, said that in addition to helping young people solve their accommodation problems, the "BELIVING Youth Hub" provides various support to encourage young people to innovate and pursue their dreams boldly. "BELIVING" not only includes the meaning of "living" and "living", but we also hope to bring out the meaning of "believe in youth" through the project, that is, to believe in youth and the future. The crowd attending the opening ceremony also visited the demonstration unit of "BELIVING Youth Hub", and communicated with young tenants who have already moved into dormitories to gain a firsthand understanding of the housing needs of young people.
