40 new countries! China's outbound tourism accelerates recovery and boosts global market confidence

2023-03-16

After three years, China's outbound team tour officially restarted soon after the full moon, and the outbound tourism market ushered in good news. From March 15, China will resume the pilot operation of national travel agencies and online travel enterprises to operate outbound group travel and "air ticket+hotel" business for Chinese citizens to relevant countries (the second batch). This batch includes 40 countries, plus 20 countries recovered from the first batch of pilot projects. At present, China's outbound group travel destinations have increased to 60 countries. At present, major domestic travel agencies are stepping up the preparation of relevant line products. Xu Lei, senior European product manager of Spring and Autumn Tourism, is currently on the spot with the Spanish Tourism Administration. Xu Lei said that this time in Spain, in addition to reconfirming the understanding of conventional hotels, scenic spots, restaurants and other tourism resources, it also specially docked some local in-depth tourism and personalized tourism products. Over the past three years, some changes have taken place in the way and content of Chinese tourists. Before the epidemic, China has become the world's largest outbound tourism market for many consecutive years. In 2019, the number of outbound tourists of Chinese citizens reached 155 million, ranking first in the world. Within a week after the resumption of China's outbound group tour on February 6 this year, there were 20 outbound groups departing from Shanghai alone. The epidemic has caused severe damage to the global tourism economy. Now the arrival of Chinese tourists will undoubtedly boost confidence in global recovery. (Xinhua News Agency)
