Recently, eight provinces and regions, including Shanxi, Liaoning, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, Guangxi, and Yunnan, announced the implementation of the second round of central ecological environmental protection supervision and rectification, and a large number of major ecological environmental problems have been effectively solved. It is understood that the second round and the third batch of central ecological and environmental protection supervision team carried out supervision on eight provinces and regions including Shanxi from April to May 2021, and fed back the supervision opinions in July 2021. 8 provinces and regions regard the supervision and rectification as a major political task and an important starting point for promoting the construction of ecological civilization and strengthening the protection of ecological environment. They have formulated plans, established mechanisms, strengthened measures, and paid close attention to the implementation. The supervision and rectification have achieved remarkable results. Shanxi Province has solidly promoted the ecological restoration of "two mountains, seven rivers and one basin", implemented 18 ecological rehabilitation projects in the main stream of the Fenhe River, completed 360000 hectares of afforestation, and completed 6739 hectares of ecological restoration and treatment of mines left over from history. Liaoning Province has completed the renovation of 20 key river sections and 1959 sewage outlets into rivers and seas, and completed the construction of 879 kilometers of drainage pipe network. In 2021, the proportion of excellent water quality in the national surface water examination section of the province will reach 83.3%. Anhui Province has implemented the construction of ecological corridors along the Yangtze River, Huaihe River, Jianghuai Canal, Xinanjiang River and ecological barriers in southern and western Anhui, and completed afforestation of 120000 hectares, forest tending of 400000 hectares, and restoration of 50000 hectares of degraded forests. Jiangxi Province has invested a total of 19 billion yuan in the construction of 38 domestic waste incineration facilities with a daily treatment capacity of 336500 tons. Domestic waste in 11 districts and cities in the province has basically achieved clean incineration treatment. Henan Province has built 607 kilometers of ecological corridor on the right bank of the Yellow River (Henan section), completed 2973 hectares of afforestation of ecological corridor on the main and tributaries of the Yellow River, and continued to promote the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin. Hunan Province has made solid progress in the comprehensive improvement of the water environment of Dongting Lake and implemented seven aspects of total phosphorus pollution control projects. The concentration of total phosphorus in the West Dongting Lake and the South Dongting Lake has decreased to 0.048 mg/L and 0.051 mg/L respectively. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has allocated 341 million yuan to carry out ecological protection and restoration of the Lijiang River basin in Guilin, covering nearly 90 hectares of illegal sand mining area and 9613 hectares of afforestation area, and completed the pilot project of ecological protection and restoration of mountains, forests, fields, lakes and grasses in the Zuojiang River basin. Yunnan Province has concentrated on rectifying the illegal construction along the Dianchi Lake, demolishing the illegal construction area of 1.1 million square meters in total, and restoring the ecological lakeside zone of 14 kilometers. The original over-development, disorderly development and closed-line development along the coast have been effectively curbed. By December 2022, 356 of the 558 rectification tasks specified in the rectification plan of the eight provinces and regions have been completed, and the remaining rectification tasks are being actively and orderly promoted.
