2023-02-09

Deutsche Presse-Agentur reported on February 6 that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the unveiling ceremony of the country's largest helicopter factory. According to the news from the Ministry of Defense of India quoted by the Press Trust of India on Monday, the factory in Karnataka, in the southwest of India, will produce more than 1000 helicopters with a total value of about $48 billion in 20 years. According to the Times of India, Modi said at the opening ceremony of the factory that "all kinds of weapons and equipment from modern assault rifles, aircraft carriers to jet fighters are being manufactured by India itself." India, with a population of about 1.4 billion, has one of the largest military forces in the world. This big country with nuclear weapons is also one of the countries that import the most military equipment in the world. Recently, India has been trying to produce more defense equipment by itself.
