This village with "artistic style" is called General Village, which is located in Qitang Town, Bishan District, Chongqing, and is only half an hour's drive from the main city of Chongqing, But a few years ago, it was a "hollow village": the environment was dirty, the industry was empty, and a large number of villagers went out to work, leaving a piece of abandoned land covered with grass, and a dilapidated empty house. How to solve the problem of "hollow village"? By chance, Bishan District contacted with the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts and the Chongqing Sculpture Society and hit upon the idea of "art rural construction", that is, to activate the silent countryside through art. With the support of the designers of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, the "Art Activation" project in Jiangjun Village started in early 2021, building new infrastructure such as roads and pipe networks, creating ten theme core art areas such as art museums, art galleries, libraries, and supporting facilities such as restaurants, cafes, and homestays. Relying on these artistic carriers, art exhibitions, sculpture exhibitions, drama festivals, art fairs and other artistic activities have come in succession, and local intangible cultural heritage dance and other characteristic arts have also been moved to the small theater stage in the village.
