On February 1, Iranian Speaker Karibav sent a letter to Iranian President Lehi, informing him about Iran's domestic legislation on becoming a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and submitting the passed bill to the President for signature. According to Iran's Tasnim news agency, Kalibav reported the relevant information in the legislative stage in his letter. The bill on Iran becoming a member of the SCO will be formally implemented after being signed by the President. Leahy had previously expressed support for Iran's accession to the SCO.
