The Standing Committee of the Vietnamese National Congress issued a notice on the 18th, announcing that Wu Yingchun, the vice president of the country, would be the acting president of the country. According to the Vietnam News Agency, the President of the Vietnamese National Congress, Wang Tinghui, issued this notice on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Congress on the same day. The notice said that according to the Vietnamese Constitution, the Organic Law of the National Congress and the proposal of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party on the candidate for the Acting President of the State, Wu Yingchun would be the Acting President of the State until the National Congress elected a new President of the State. Wu Yingchun was born in Anjiang Province in southern Vietnam in January 1970. He has worked in his hometown for a long time and served as the secretary of Anjiang Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In 2011, Wu Yingchun was elected as an alternate member of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and was a member of the 12th and 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In 2021, she was elected Vice President of the country. On the 17th, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam held a meeting and agreed that Nguyen Chun-fu would resign as a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and president of the country. On the 18th, the 15th National Congress of Vietnam held its third special session and passed a resolution on the removal of Nguyen Chun-fu from the post of President of the State and the termination of his status as a representative of the 15th National Congress.
