The reporter learned from the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department that at 10:30 on the 15th, two Chinese law enforcement boats participating in the 125th China-Laos-Myanmar-Tai Mekong River Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement Action slowly left Jingha Wharf in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, marking the beginning of the China-Laos-Myanmar-Tai Mekong River Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement Action in 2023. The operation is expected to take four days and three nights, with a total voyage of more than 500 kilometers. Before the action, the law enforcement departments of the four countries held the 2022 annual summary meeting in the form of video, reviewed and summarized the fruitful results of the joint patrol law enforcement action, and conducted in-depth consultations on the content of the joint law enforcement cooperation of the four countries in 2023. The Quartet also held a joint meeting of commanders and an information exchange meeting to jointly study and discuss the operation. During the operation, the law enforcement members of the four countries will carry out joint law enforcement operations in key waters of the Mekong River as planned, continue to crack down on all kinds of illegal and criminal activities in the basin, and make every effort to ensure the safety and stability of the basin. It is understood that since 2022, the law enforcement departments of the four countries have successfully carried out 12 joint patrolling and law enforcement operations, 162 various law enforcement operations, 204 law enforcement boats and 2700 law enforcement personnel.
