2023-01-09

The golden corn grains poured out, the customs personnel quickly completed on-site inspection and quarantine and other supervision work, and the Brazilian corn imported by the first batch of bulk ships in China was successfully cleared. On January 7, a freighter carrying 68000 tons of Brazilian corn arrived at Machong Port in Guangdong Province from Santos Port in Brazil after more than a month's voyage. The Brazilian corn imported by COFCO Group will be delivered to domestic feed enterprises by water and land transportation. This is the first time that China has imported Brazilian corn in bulk, marking the opening of the Brazilian corn export corridor, which has a positive and far-reaching impact on strengthening China Brazil agricultural cooperation and maintaining the security and stability of the global agricultural supply chain. Brazil is the third largest corn producer and the second largest corn exporter in the world. According to COFCO, Brazil and the grain producing countries in the northern hemisphere are seasonally complementary, and the channels for importing corn from Brazil have been fully opened, which can form a diversified circulation pattern of corn and better balance seasonal and regional fluctuations. Next, COFCO Group will have several ships carrying corn arriving in China, and the normalized supply of corn in Brazil will be realized as soon as possible. (Liu Xinshe)
