UAV logistics is the first to test low altitude economy in Shenzhen: a new trillion industry investment outlet

2023-01-04

On August 22 last year, the National Civil Aviation Administration announced the second batch of unmanned aviation test bases (test areas), and the approved civil unmanned aviation test areas in Shenzhen, targeting urban scenarios and comprehensive application expansion. The announcement of this news has enabled the sensitive investment community to see new business opportunities surging forward. Recently, the reporter learned from the municipal transportation bureau that the bureau will work with relevant research institutions to accelerate the research on low altitude economy and formulate a city wide low altitude economic development policy in accordance with the deployment of the plenary session of the municipal party committee. Shenzhen has become the pioneer of low altitude economy in the field of logistics. The production and sales of consumer grade unmanned aircraft in Shenzhen account for 70% of the world's total. With the leading automation and intelligent system, Shenzhen has a good foundation for developing low altitude economy. However, the reporter learned that Shenzhen's low altitude economy is still in its infancy, and only has a certain scale of operation in the logistics field. Since Shunfeng Technology was approved to carry out the "Low altitude UAV Logistics Distribution System Pilot" in Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area in December 2020, it has basically built a low altitude unmanned logistics network covering Shenzhen, and carried out the urban scene UAV logistics distribution application. In addition to express transportation, Shunfeng also provides medical materials transportation services for Luohu Hospital. As of October 15, 2022, Shunfeng has flown 132500 sorties in Shenzhen, more than 14400 hours, more than 623900 kilometers and more than 280 tons of goods. Totally 70 air routes and 400 square kilometers of airspace have been opened. In terms of approved routes and airspace, Shunfeng has been approved 53 routes in Shenzhen, covering Longgang, Nanshan, Futian, Luohu, Longhua, Pingshan and other regions; The approved airspace in Pingshan covers an area of nearly 400 square kilometers (including some areas in Longgang District and Dapeng New District). At the same time, 3 cross sea routes were approved to connect Shenzhen to Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Zhongshan. At present, Meituan has preliminarily completed the research and development of aircraft, automated airport and UAV intelligent scheduling system, of which more than 90% of the components are purely self-developed. As of October 2022, Meituan UAV distribution has landed in 5 business districts in Shenzhen, covering more than 10 communities and office buildings, serving nearly 20000 households, and completing 100000 orders for real users. At the same time, more than 400,000 flight tests have been completed in Beijing, Shenzhen and other test airports, and the total delivery flight time is more than 10,000 hours. Shenzhen policy supports low altitude economy and UAV logistics development Low altitude economy cannot be developed without policy support and guidance. According to the person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, in February 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Outline of the National Comprehensive Three dimensional Transportation Network Plan, proposing "to develop the transportation platform economy, hub economy, channel economy, and low altitude economy", and for the first time, the concept of "low altitude economy" was included in the national plan. The introduction of national policies provides a policy basis for the rapid development of Shenzhen low altitude logistics. In June 2021, the Shenzhen Municipal Government issued the Fourteenth Five Year Plan, proposing to promote the development of general aviation, such as the integrated use of unmanned aerial vehicles, and accelerate the construction of a comprehensive demonstration area for the general aviation industry. In October 2021, Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and the Central and Southern Civil Aviation Administration will promote the approval of enterprise logistics distribution business license and certain types of unmanned
