When we talked on the phone in May this year, we reached a series of important consensus on the development of China Philippines relations in the new era, and the two sides established four key areas of cooperation: agriculture, infrastructure, energy and people to people and cultural engagement. The two sides should strive to create highlights of cooperation, improve the quality of cooperation and benefit the two peoples. The Chinese side is willing to pass on friendship, continue cooperation with the Philippines, work together for national development and revitalization, and write a new chapter of China Philippines friendship. The two sides should continue to deepen the docking of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with the "more and better" planning of the Philippines, build the Davao Samar Bridge project, discuss the "two countries, two parks" cooperation, and strengthen cooperation in clean energy, education, and public health. China is willing to import more high-quality agricultural and sideline products from the Philippines. Both sides should take more practical measures to strengthen people to people and cultural exchanges and consolidate the public opinion foundation of China Philippines friendship. On the South China Sea issue, the two sides should adhere to friendly consultations and properly handle differences and disputes. As Asian developing countries, China and the Philippines should adhere to strategic autonomy, peace, openness and inclusiveness, grasp the general direction of regional cooperation, work together to resist unilateralism and hegemonism, jointly safeguard fairness and justice, and safeguard regional peace and stability. The Philippines and China have a thousand year history of friendly exchanges. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, bilateral cooperation in various fields has been constantly promoted. China supports and helps the Philippine nation building and makes important contributions to this end. The Philippines and China are increasingly enhancing mutual trust. The Philippines looks forward to working with China to tap potential, expand cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, people to people and cultural exchanges and other fields, and build a more stable and strong bilateral relationship. I have always advocated that the maritime issue should not define the Philippines China relationship as a whole, and the two sides can further strengthen communication in this regard. The Philippines will continue to adhere to the one China policy, the principle of peace, and independent diplomacy. The Philippines is willing to actively consult with China to discuss and promote the joint development of offshore oil and gas. Ding Xuexiang, Wang Yi, He Lifeng and others attended the meeting.
