Main channel for increasing storage and production of offshore oil and gas

2022-11-15

Recently, seven platforms in the largest block of Kenli 6-1 Oilfield, a 100 million ton Bohai oil field, have been installed offshore, laying a foundation for the project to be put into production on schedule. Kenli 6-1 Oilfield is the first large 100 million ton oilfield discovered in the northern part of Laizhou Bay in Bohai Sea, China, and also the largest crude oil production project under construction in Bohai Oilfield, China's largest crude oil production base, in 2022. The proven geological reserves of oil exceed 100 million tons, which can be used by 1 million vehicles for more than 20 years after it is completed and put into operation. Tao Fuwen, general manager of COOEC Project Branch, said that the central processing platform installed this time, weighing more than 15000 tons, is the heaviest oil production platform in Bohai at present, and can accommodate 80 employees at the same time. The project uses the double line operation mode to coordinate and command two fleets to operate at the same time, and efficiently complete the offshore installation of 14 single structures, with an accumulative installation weight of 36000 tons. In October, CNOOC announced that it had made another major breakthrough in exploration in the Qiongdongnan Basin in the southeast sea area of Hainan Island, discovered the first deep-water deep atmospheric field in China, Baodao 21-1, with proven geological reserves exceeding 50 billion cubic meters, and achieved the largest breakthrough in Songnan Baodao Depression for more than half a century. Similarly, the third quarter report released by CNOOC at the end of October showed that the company achieved a total net output of 461.5 million barrels of oil equivalent, up 9.3% year on year, a record high in the same period. In the third quarter, the company's net output was 156.8 million barrels of oil equivalent, up 8.8% year on year. Among them, the net output in China rose 6.8% year on year, reaching 106.9 million barrels of oil equivalent. It is reported that in the first three quarters, the company has obtained 14 new discoveries and successfully evaluated 20 oil and gas bearing structures, a total of 6 projects have been successfully put into production, and another 7 projects are steadily advancing. At the same time, the first independently developed deep-water underwater production system and shallow water underwater production system of CNOOC were officially put into operation or completed installation, which is of great significance for the effective development of oil and gas fields in the future. In 2012, the report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) proposed for the first time to "build a maritime power", setting strategic goals for the development of China's marine industry. In the same year, the first sixth generation ultra deepwater semi submersible drilling platform independently designed and built by China officially started drilling, which opened the curtain of China's oil and gas development into deep water. Since then, China has formed a "deep-water fleet" represented by "Offshore Oil 201" and "Offshore Oil 720", which has successively overcome world-class technical problems such as conventional deep-water, ultra deep-water and deep-water high temperature and pressure, innovated deep-water development mode, formed a series of deep-water technology systems with proprietary intellectual property rights, and has the ability to operate from deep-water to ultra deep-water in an all-round manner, China has become one of the countries that can independently carry out deep-water oil and gas exploration and development in the world. At present, China has found more than 10 large and medium-sized oil and gas fields in relevant deep-water sea areas, successfully realizing independent development of deep-water oil and gas fields, and deep-water oil and gas has become an important source of oil and gas storage and production in China. Taking deep-sea natural gas production as an example, China's marine natural gas production will reach 19.6 billion cubic meters in 2021, an increase of 1 billion cubic meters or 5.4% year on year.
