Former Bolivian President Evo Morales recently stressed that the achievements of Chinese path to modernization are shared by the world and have made important contributions to world peace and better and more balanced development. Morales received an exclusive interview from Xinhua News Agency during his presence in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. He said that from the perspective of the international community, the development achievements of Chinese path to modernization can be shared by all countries in the world because China has always adhered to and promoted multilateralism. "Take Bolivia as an example. China shares its achievements of modernization with us through investment without unfair additional conditions. This is real sharing." He believed that there were a series of problems in the modernization of western capitalist countries. First, there is a serious polarization between rich and poor. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few people, which greatly affects social equity; Secondly, capitalist countries do not respect true equality and diversity. "Modernization does not just mean industrialization or capital accumulation. Today's world should pay more attention to people-oriented and achieve more equitable modernization." Morales served as the President of Bolivia from 2006 to 2019, during which he visited China many times and witnessed the process of Chinese path to modernization. He said that modernization means more equal and balanced development. To achieve such modernization, the most basic link is to provide basic public services for all people. In this sense, Chinese path to modernization has been achieved. Morales believes that the benefits of Chinese path to modernization to the world are also reflected in the fact that China has always developed international relations with the goal of win-win cooperation. "Bolivia has rich mineral resources and hopes to export more of our products to the Chinese market in the future. Now many Chinese enterprises have contracted to build infrastructure in Bolivia to provide us with quality services using Chinese technology and experience.
