The two-day 31st Summit Council of the League of Arab States ended in Algiers, the capital of Algeria, on the 2nd. The meeting issued a statement stressing that joint Arab action should be strengthened and all interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries should be opposed. Leaders or senior officials from 21 member states of the League of Arab States, Secretary General of the United Nations Guterres, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Gheit and others attended the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the statement stressed that joint Arab action should be strengthened to protect the security of Arab countries in all areas. Arab countries should jointly address the challenges of food, energy, health and climate change and institutionalize these efforts. The statement rejected all interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, insisted that the problems of Arab countries should be solved by Arabs, and reaffirmed the core status of the Palestinian cause and absolute support for the rights of the Palestinian people. The statement promises to strive to achieve Arab economic integration in order to fully activate the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone and prepare for the establishment of the Arab Customs Union. The statement appreciated the balanced policy adopted by "OPEC+" to ensure the stability of the global energy market and the sustainability of investment in this field, and believed that it protected both energy producing and consuming countries. The League of Arab States was established in March 1945, with a total of 22 member States. The summit council meeting of the League of Arab States is the highest level meeting between the League of Arab States and Arab countries. After the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011, the Arab League suspended Syria's membership. The next Arab League Summit will be held in Saudi Arabia. (Liu Xinshe)
