By October 2022, more than 230 operators around the world had launched 5G commercial services, deployed more than 3 million 5G sites, and reached 700 million 5G users. Based on the rapid promotion of network deployment, 5G is leaping from a large-scale commercial period to a high-speed development period. 5G's consumer oriented business is still the ballast of operators' income. Compared with 4G, the user experience of 5G has been greatly improved, and new consumer behavior represented by video has been formed. This has led to twice the growth of online traffic (DOU), while the ARPU value has increased by 20%~40%, driving the steady growth of the operator's connection revenue. At the same time, 5G industry oriented applications are becoming a new engine for revenue growth of operators. At present, new applications driven by 5G have emerged in many markets around the world in oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation and other fields. These applications not only bring business innovation, but also begin to bring actual business value to operators. For example, in 2021, there will be more than 3000 5GtoB commercial projects of Chinese operators, and the revenue will exceed 3.4 billion yuan. This will boost the DICT revenue by 10 times, making it the fastest growing business area for operators. 5G has created many new scenarios, applications and models, which has brought unprecedented opportunities for the development of the entire industry. To seize these opportunities, Hu Houkun believes that we can make preparations from three aspects. First, continue technological innovation, improve network construction and enhance user experience. The construction of 5G should not only meet the coverage requirements, but also focus on business and experience. High quality user experience is the key to attract consumers to choose more 5G services. For example, Chinese operators optimize the network around the Tiktok business experience, reducing the first screen delay by 50%, reducing the stuck rate to one tenth of the original, and doubling the traffic. Secondly, jointly define and promote the orderly development of 5.5G industry. Promote the continuous evolution of 5G, and realize the four key features of 5.5G: "10Gbps for downlink, 1Gbps for uplink, 100 billion connections, and endogenous intelligence" towards 2025. Hu Houkun called for: "We hope that the industry will work together to promote the definition of 5.5G standards, spectrum acquisition and industrial chain construction." Finally, we will carry out business and commercial innovation to fully release 5G dividends.
