According to the Kremlin website, Putin said in his speech at the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, that Asian countries are the engines of world economic growth, and regional organizations such as the SCO and ASEAN are very active. At present, the price fluctuation of energy, raw materials and other important commodities is intensifying, and real threats such as famine and social unrest are emerging, especially in the poorest countries. Russia calls for removing all kinds of artificial and illegal obstacles, and restoring the normal operation of the global supply chain to meet the increasingly urgent food security challenges. Putin said that it is necessary to revise the operating rules of the global financial system. The current system enables some countries to control almost all funds and technologies for decades, and parasitizes other countries to a large extent. Russia supports more active use of domestic currency settlement among countries, which will help strengthen the financial sovereignty of countries, develop their domestic capital markets and deepen regional economic integration. The sixth CICA Summit was held in Astana from 12th to 13th. CICA is a forum on security issues initiated by Kazakhstan at the 47th United Nations General Assembly in 1992.
