Recently, the Ministry of Public Security has analyzed the road traffic accidents during the National Day holiday in the past five years, and issued road traffic safety warning tips to the public. From the situation of road traffic accidents during the National Day holiday in the past five years, there are mainly the following characteristics: First, the risk of traffic accidents in the middle of the holiday is prominent. The total number of major accidents on the third and the fourth day of the holiday accounts for 30.4% of the total number of holidays, and there are many accidents and deaths from 17 to 20, accounting for 22.9%. Second, multiple vehicle collisions on expressways are prominent. Among highway traffic accidents, the fatalities caused by collisions of more than three vehicles accounted for 24.4%, 5.6 percentage points higher than normal. The main causes of the accident include failure to maintain a safe distance, fatigue driving, and speeding. Third, the accidents caused by unlicensed driving on ordinary national and provincial roads are prominent. Among the traffic accidents on national and provincial roads, unlicensed driving caused the most deaths, accounting for 8.8%, followed by speeding, not giving way to pedestrians, and motor vehicles failing to give way as required, which accounted for more than 5%. Fourth, single side accidents of rural road vehicles are prominent. In rural road accidents, vehicle accidents alone accounted for 16.2% of the total number of deaths, of which rollover accidents occurred frequently, accounting for more than half of vehicle accidents alone. The main causes of major accidents include "three excesses and one fatigue", drunk driving, driving without license, illegal carrying of people in non passenger vehicles, accounting for nearly 70% of the total accidents. Fifthly, private car accidents are prominent. The death rate of private car accidents was 41.7%, which was significantly higher than that of ordinary days. The main causes of accidents included disobedience to pedestrians, speeding, drunk driving, and the proportion of accidents was on the rise. The fatalities caused by motorcycle and heavy truck accounted for 17.2% and 14.7% respectively. The Ministry of Public Security reminds drivers and holiday travelers that they should pay attention to the traffic conditions and weather forecast information issued by relevant departments in advance, plan travel time and route reasonably, stagger peak hours and avoid adverse weather when traveling on holidays. When driving, keep energetic and focused, especially for medium and long distance driving, reasonably arrange the rest on the way, and do not drive fatigue; There are many parties in the holiday, remember "don't drink or drive when driving"; You must wear a safety belt when driving a car, and wear a safety helmet when riding a motorcycle or electric bicycle. When driving on expressways, keep a safe distance and a specified speed. In case of traffic congestion or inspection queue, do not jam or occupy the emergency lane at will. In case of a traffic accident, remember to "pull over, evacuate, and call the police" to avoid secondary accidents. When driving through rural areas, in case of sharp turns, steep slopes, long downhills, and roads near water and cliffs, slow down and overtake cautiously. When passing rural and mountain roads, pay attention to the vehicles and pedestrians on both sides of the road. When traveling by public transport vehicles, you should choose the regular operating vehicles at the passenger station.
