Although the literary value of Congshi Ji can not be separated from the academic, it also stands out its own independent attitude in the field of article science. On the one hand, Congshi Ji has merged into the long history of scholars' prose and become one of the representatives of scholars' prose with "truthfulness, delicacy, readability and introversion"; At the same time, because most of the chapters in Congshi Ji are centered on characters, it has created the "biographical" mode of scholars' prose, thus becoming a part of "non fiction literature".
