The Hungarian government declared a state of energy emergency to deal with the energy crisis caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the EU sanctions against Russia, guyash gelgay, Minister of the prime minister's office of Hungary, said on the 13th. Guyash said at the regular government press conference on the same day that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia have led to a sharp rise in European energy prices and triggered an energy crisis in most parts of Europe. In order to protect Hungarian families and ensure energy supply, the Hungarian government decided to enter a state of energy emergency. According to guyash, the Hungarian government approved an energy security plan including seven measures, including increasing domestic natural gas production, striving for additional natural gas supply, banning the export of fuel oil and firewood, promoting domestic lignite production, and extending the operation period of baokeshi nuclear power station. The plan will take effect on August 1. (Xinhua News Agency)
