UN Secretary General Guterres welcomed the two-month ceasefire agreement reached by the parties to the conflict in Yemen on the 1st. Guterres said at a press conference that day that the ceasefire agreement provides an opportunity to solve Yemen's urgent humanitarian and economic needs and restart Yemen's political process. The ceasefire agreement must become the first step to end Yemen's civil war. He urged all parties to make necessary arrangements for the smooth implementation of the ceasefire agreement and immediately start relevant cooperation mechanisms. Guterres said that the contents of the agreement will help build mutual trust and create a favorable environment for the resumption of peace negotiations. He urged all parties to cooperate sincerely and unconditionally with the UN special envoy for Yemen glend Berri, restart a comprehensive and inclusive Yemeni political process and find a political solution that meets the legitimate concerns and aspirations of the Yemeni people through negotiations. Grendeberry said earlier in the day that the parties to the conflict in Yemen agreed to implement a two-month ceasefire at 19:00 local time on the 2nd. The conflicting parties also agreed to allow fuel ships to enter the port of hodeida at the red harbor and allow commercial flights to enter and leave Sana'a International Airport.
