Shen bin, member of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, said in Beijing on the 7th that religious circles should uphold tradition, be contemporary and face the future. The fifth session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee held a video conference on the same day, and Shen bin delivered a speech at the conference. He said that China's Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism and Christianity all have some good traditions and religious rules and systems that have evolved. But in reality, some places also have the situation of irregular use, non use and useless use. Shen bin mentioned that the religious community expects to rectify some phenomena and problems of public concern, including religious sites and teaching staff. Many people in religious circles called for strict administration of religion and effective protection of the healthy inheritance of religion. He specifically pointed out that the issue of religious style is related to the healthy inheritance of religion itself. Religious circles should deepen their ideological understanding and earnestly enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency in comprehensively and strictly administering religion. We should strengthen self-cultivation and establish a good example of faith. We should uphold tradition, adapt to the present and face the future, and consciously get rid of old rules and bad habits that do not meet the requirements of the times and public interests. Shen Bin said that we should adhere to integrity and innovation, consolidate the foundation and cultivate the yuan, take the socialist core values as the guide, infiltrate with the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and constantly enhance the recognition of religious figures and believers of the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics. "Religion is not an extrajudicial place." Shen bin stressed that religious circles and believers should consciously safeguard the authority of the Constitution and law, accurately understand the relationship between national law and religious rules, and firmly establish the general understanding that the state is greater than religion, national law is greater than religious rules, and religion and people are first and foremost citizens. He also said that we should further promote the Sinicization of China's religion, better adapt to the socialist society with Chinese characteristics, consciously achieve political recognition, social adaptation and cultural integration, and promote the healthy inheritance of religion.
