The United Nations General Assembly held an emergency special session on the situation in Ukraine on the 28th. In his speech at the emergency special session, Shahid, President of the 76th UN General Assembly, once again called on all parties to cease fire immediately, exercise maximum restraint and return to a diplomatic solution. He said that the international community should control the situation and ease tensions through various channels and seek a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian issue in accordance with international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. UN Secretary General Guterres said in his speech that the war in Ukraine must stop immediately. The Ukrainian issue is a major regional crisis that may have a disastrous impact on all countries. The only way out is peace, and the channels of dialogue must remain unblocked. The UN Security Council held a meeting on the 27th and voted to adopt resolution 2623 calling for an emergency special session of the General Assembly on the situation in Ukraine.
