At present, some fraudsters take advantage of the opportunity of epidemic prevention and control to "update" fraud methods and defraud money by cheating passengers to handle "temporary epidemic prevention certificate". According to the investigation of Guangzhou Liwan District People's court, from April to August 2021, the defendants Duan, Feng and Ning came to the provincial bus station on Huanshi West Road in Guangzhou after conspiracy, looked for passengers, and fabricated the excuse that the epidemic occurred. They needed to apply for epidemic prevention certificates and pay insurance certificates to defraud the victims' property, defrauding Jiang, Cao and Lu for nearly 10000 yuan. Liwan District People's court held that the defendants Duan, Feng and Ning ganged up to defraud others' property for many times, with a large amount, and their behavior constituted the crime of fraud. As the Spring Festival approached, the judge of Liwan District People's court reminded passengers to understand the local epidemic prevention policies and beware of being cheated.
